Control Hormones, Acne Will Control Itself?
One of the biggest factors that cause acne is hormonal
changes. The changes take place all over in the body causing
various imbalances. The medical research shows that majority of
people suffering from acne have an oily skin and this secretion
of excess oil leads to acne development. The overproduction of
oil is caused by high level of hormonal imbalance and the acne
can be prevented only if this balance is maintained.
Youngsters suffer from acne in adolescence and in this age
of puberty the hormonal changes regulate most of our bodily
functions, growth and development and lead to hyper activeness.
This results in a lot of aggressiveness and sometimes
adjustment problems among teenagers cause them worried about
peer pressure and group acceptance.
In boys, their body starts producing more male hormones that
excite sebaceous glands. These are oil-producing glands found
throughout the skin. The oil moves below the skin which
attracts bacteria and once the oil reaches the skin's surface
through a hair follicle, it gets clogged which usually happens
due to bacteria-laden oil. These blockages promote bacterial
growth, infection and different kinds of acne. The acne grows
on face, neck or back causing irritation.
As bodily changes during puberty trigger acne development,
women in particular are vulnerable to this because of changes
in their monthly cycles. Sometimes women opt for birth control
pills which control acne because they keep hormones under
control.
Experts say that men are more likely to have long-term acne
while women are more susceptible to occasional acne flare-ups.
If you're suffering from uncontrolled acne, consult a
dermatologist.
A nutritious diet is also very important at this stage and
it must be balanced in every form leading to healthy growth. It
is advisable for teenagers to eat lot of green vegetables and
fruits and have plenty of water. Buttermilk, coconut water and
fruit juice are very helpful to clear acne. Water and juices
help detoxify body by flushing out body wastes. Regular
exercise is the next thing that control body hormones and bring
required glow on face.
